Emma

Our daughter, Emma, was born in August. After a few weeks of struggling to stay awake, eat, and gain weight, we finally learned why: Emma had two congenital heart defects. Unbeknownst to us and her doctors, she was born with a large ventricular septal defect and a long-segment coarctation of the aorta. At five weeks old, our little wonder woman underwent a successful open heart surgery to correct these defects. As the dust began to settle around this shocking diagnosis, our minds turned to how we were going to pay for this surgery and hospital stay. Thankfully, the Samantha Remington Angel Heart Fund stepped in to help us with a generous gift! Their gift helped to lift a heavy burden from our shoulders, and we could not be more grateful for their kindness. I (Emma’s mom) had the pleasure of knowing Samantha growing up. This Angel Heart Fund is a beautiful legacy, and we thank her family for celebrating her life in this way.
