DaniMay

Our sweet DaniMay was born November 19, 2020. She was a surprisingly small size (4 pounds 14.9 oz). She had a growth restriction that we were not aware of until she was born. When she was born her blood sugar read low and that put her in the NICU. By God’s Grace that led to the nurses hearing a murmur in her heart. They ordered an echo of her heart. After seeing the echo she was transferred to Children’s Hospital Colorado. They found a huge hole, a smaller hole, and two irregular valves in her heart. After we took her home we still had to spend lots of time at the hospital getting echos every couple of weeks. After doing an exploratory procedure to really get a look at her heart in February 2021, they determined she needed to be operated on sooner rather than later. March 3, 2021 DaniMay, at 3.5  months old, had open heart surgery. Her big hole was closed and they did what they could on her left mitral valve to get it operating as best as possible. Her surgery was very successful! She exudes joy and we know this sweet girl is going to do amazing things! She is loved by all who meet her, but especially her big sister Paisley Grace who cannot wait for her little sister to be back home. We have been so shaped and blessed throughout our time with DaniMay and she has made a significant impact in our lives and how we approach the moments that cause us to suffer. We trust and know that each moment as we walk this difficult road with her, the Lord is loving on us and her big time and will use this time for His greater glory.”
